For the eighth year in a row, the Phoenix office of JLL participated in the annual Brokers for Kids Olympiad Event that took place last Friday, April 13th at Scottsdale Stadium. Brokers for Kids is a year-long fundraising drive in which Valley commercial real estate teams compete to raise money for local children’s charities.
Presented by the Scottsdale 20-30 Club, the drive culminates with the Olympiad Event where the coveted Broker’s Cup is awarded to the top fundraising team. The JLL team competed for the Olympiad Championship battling it out in fun, athletics events such as the quarterback challenge, basketball, baggo and bocce ball.
This year’s team was coached by Vice President John Reva and Trevor Pratt. The team consisted of Intern Kevin Bauer, Brokerage Coordinator Nicole Teachout, Associates Brendan Satran and Chris Beall, and Senior Vice President Brian Ackerman. Overall the team placed third.
“I am proud to take third, but even more proud of my team for their enthusiastic participation and dedication to the event,” said John. “Overall, it was a successful and fun afternoon.”
Founded in 1999, the Brokers for Kids drive has helped raise over $4,000,000 for Arizona kids. The funds raised this year will be donated to Boys Hope Girls Hope (BHGH). Focused on supporting children that come from financially and socially challenged backgrounds, BHGH provides a residential program that recreates the family atmosphere and dynamic that is central to a healthy adolescent development. Many of the scholars come from poverty, households with minimal parent involvement, or single parent homes. Thanks to BHGH, kids are able to receive the proper parenting and guidance and achieve the dreams they once thought were out of reach, including graduating from college.
