Phoenix saw an 188% increase in tech jobs from 2016 to 2017, ranking it third in the nation for tech job growth. Huntsville, AL, and Thousand Oaks, CA, took the top two spots with a 309% increase and 200% increase in tech jobs over the same time period.
The top tech jobs in Phoenix include: Project Manager, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Data Analyst and SQL Developer. The median salary for mid-career tech employees is $96,800.
Home to a well-educated workforce and a low cost of living, Phoenix has enticed numerous tech companies to expand into the metro, including Amazon, Carvana, Galvanize, Prosper, Uber, Upgrade, Yelp and ZenReach.
