As of November, Phoenix 12-month job growth has maintained its momentum at 2.9 percent. The Valley added 54,712 new jobs in the last year.
Professional and Business Services continues to lead the way in Phoenix, adding 18,294 new jobs over the last 12 months. Education and Health Services also continued its consistent growth, adding 12,362 new jobs. Construction was the only sector to lose jobs in that time, shedding 3,002 jobs over the last year.
Phoenix’s unemployment rate fell to 5.9 percent, well below the Arizona rate (6.8 percent) and just above the national rate (5.8 percent).
